During a gala-event on September 15th 2010 near Brussels, Plastiflex was awarded the Benelux BeyeNETWORK Vision Award for Business Impact in the mid-market category. The Vision Award for Business Impact recognizes companies that use technology innovatively to solve business and technical challenges.
The awards and competition are an initiative of BI Community.org and BeyeNETWORK. BI-community.org is a network of Business Intelligence professionals and The BeyeNETWORK is an online network of sites that provide free resources for business intelligence professionals. The competition was organized for the second time and the winners were selected from over 30 submitted cases. A jury of representatives from business, industry and the scientific community reviewed the submissions and selected the Plastilex ‘Budgeting & Forecasting’ project as overall winner in the midmarket category.
The company is positioned in its markets as the Hose Innovator. Plastiflex is operating in four key markets: Floor Care, White Goods, Industrial and Pool. They are also focusing on other important markets, such as water/air management and health care systems. As Plastiflex typically markets their products via OEMs (Original Equipement Manufactures) it is very likely that you also are using a Plastiflex equiped product.
Plastiflex deployed SAP BPC as their world wide Budgeting & Forecasting tool, which enabled them to react faster on changing market conditions. The platform offers, the executive, business unit, sales and plant managers, a unified tool for collecting, reporting and analyzing actual, forecast and budget data. The existing Budgeting & Forecasting process was integrated within the software. It includes currency translations, TopDown, BottomUp and seasonal adjustments. Cycle times were reduced by 50% and data consistency is increased, which will save money as from the first year. This implementation is a platform for growth, as Plastiflex continues to extend the possibilities of the platform.
RealDolmen assisted Plastiflex end-to-end in defining and executing the program by using the RealDolmen project management lifecycle. The project started with a vision, strategy and roadmap, leading to the actual project go-ahead. In a mixed team-model, RealDolmen assisted in: designing the architecture, selecting the technology, defining the proper processes, project managing the implementation and delivering the required SAP BPC skills.
Of course we are proud of our share in the project, but above all I also want to congratulate Plastiflex with this well-deserved reward. Under the leadership of their CFO, Dirk Slegers and IT Manager/Project Leader Patrick Taels, the management and team of this successful international group has proven that companies with right vision, independent of their size and location, can create real business benefits with innovative Business Intelligence.
